Project Description:
ITW it is an organization
run by & for women. The aims and objectives of ITW's training programmes
and projects are to improve the position of women worldwide. From 1998 a
group of migrant women are involved in building up projects with social
and creative organizations for creating a support network. During
1999-2002 ITW was acting as one of the Dutch hosting/sending
organization for the E.V.S project.
The volunteers were
supporting these migrant women mainly by assisting them to:

Establish contact with
social organizations to develop a local network of support
-
To support social and
creative organizations in the city of Amsterdam.

To participate and assist
in creative activities organized by ITW/Arts, Studio Pallas
-
Working on the ITW
newsletter: writing articles, layout, etc.

Helping with the
day-to-day running of the office
The EVS volunteers at
I.T.W., were involved in different social and creative activities such
as:

Wall-painting and mosaic
work in a Community House

Helping with the
organization of a seminar on quality in Education

Doing mailings for an AIDS
organization
-
Participating in a
multi-cultural music project for youth
-
guiding deaf children in
creative activities
-
helping in a center for
homeless people
-
helping to inform
prostitutes on AIDS

Organizing intercultural
activities in schools
-
helping to build up an
intercultural library in an art exhibition hall

Assisting in the
organization of a conference in gender equality
